HACKENSACK, N.J. - Following an improbable 88-86 overtime victory over first-place Wagner on CBS Sports Network Thursday, the Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (4-20, 5-12 NEC) hits the road for the 2021-22 regular season finale at third-place LIU (14-13, 11-6 NEC) on Saturday, February 26 with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. live on NEC Front Row.
FDU received a win in the conference standings following Mount St. Mary's COVID-19 related forfeit on December 29 giving the Knights a 1-0 start in NEC play. Following the cancellations against Merrimack (January 6) and Bryant (January 8), FDU was assigned a loss in the NEC standings for each contest. The forfeits do not impact the Knights' overall record.

Scouting the Knights
In one of the most electric games of the 2021-22 season across the college basketball landscape, the FDU Knights put on a show for the national TV audience on CBS Sports Network as the Knights topped first-place Wagner 88-86 in an overtime thriller. Prior to the game, lone senior
Sal Xheraj was recognized as the contest marked FDU's final home game of the regular season. Xheraj made his first career start (two seasons) and saw just under four minutes of action. In game play, Wagner held the advantage for the majority of the contest, though FDU was never more than nine points behind the Seahawks. Junior
Brandon Rush was the no-question hero for
Greg Herenda's side with the Warrensville, Ohio product booking a career-high 36 points in 43 minutes on the floor for the Burgundy and Blue. Rush also added a team-leading two steals to go along with a pair of assists and two rebounds off the defensive glass. Getting hot early on, Rush proved his mettle after slowing production in the Knights' previous few matchups and looked like himself shooting 12-for-22 from the field and a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. Freshman
Ray Ford Jr. came off the bench and came in clutch with a pair of triples and a big-time assist to keep the Knights in the ballgame. FDU would hold Wagner, who is ranked in several mid-major polls, scoreless for the final 1:51 of the overtime period.
