SMITHFIELD, R.I. - After sweeping the back-to-back day season series on their home court last season, the Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (3-19, 4-11 NEC) faces Bryant for the first time since January 31, 2021 - a 95-84 win for the Knights. The first meeting of the season between the two sides, scheduled for January 8, was forfeited by FDU due to COVID-19 protocols. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, live on NEC Front Row from the Chace Athletic Center.
FDU received a win in the conference standings following Mount St. Mary's COVID-19 related forfeit on December 29 giving the Knights a 1-0 start in NEC play. Following the cancellations against Merrimack (January 6) and Bryant (January 8), FDU was assigned a loss in the NEC standings for each contest. The forfeits do not impact the Knights' overall record.

Bryant has also set a DI program record with 13 NEC victories. Peter Kiss enters Saturday as the nation's leading scorer with 24.5 points per game. Kiss has scored 30+ points in four-straight games and has 25+ points in 10 of his last 11. Scouting the Knights
Merimack's Jordan Minor stepped up to the plate to put the Warriors up 4-0 to start the contest. The junior finished with 20 points and eight boards for
Greg Herenda's alma mater. Knights rookie
Anquan Hill paced the Burgundy and Blue with a team-high 11 points on 5-of-14 shooting. The Philadelphia, Pa. native posted an even two assists and two steals which also led FDU. Getting off to an unbelievable start to the second period, FDU held Merrimack scoreless for nearly five minutes to begin the second with the Knights' largest lead of the game (three points) coming with 15:53 to play in regulation. Sophomore
Sébastien Lamaute and freshman
Oscar Berry each made a team-high two triples with Lamaute sinking each of his attempts; Berry made 2-of-8. "We left a bunch of points on the scoreboard in the first half and we were right there but the second half got out of hand quickly," said Herenda. "Give Merrimack credit but we just cannot count on our freshmen on the road against quality teams in our conference. These growing pains hurt but this group is growing up on a daily basis. We are playing the best teams in our conference down the stretch here so we have to get rest tomorrow and get ready for Saturday."
