DOVER, Del. – The Knights (8-4, 0-0) hopped back on the winning train as they took down the Delaware State Hornets (2-9, 0-0). FDU was coming off of two difficult games against Big East and A10 opponents and felt the pressure to get back in the winning column. The two teams went back and forth in the first quarter with DSU leading 16-15 after the first 10 minutes of the game. The Knights struck quickly with a 7-0 run in the first 1:30 of the second quarter. The 7-0 run was led by two quick buckets from
Sierra DeAngelo and a dagger three-pointer from
Ella Fajardo. Both offenses went quiet for the next four minutes, but FDU kept up the defensive intensity. They did not give up a Hornets score until 2:18 before halftime. The Knights outscored the Hornets 17-5 in the second quarter and took a 32-21 lead into halftime. The Burgundy and Blue opened the second half on a quick 8-2 run led by six points from
Chloe Wilson. The Knights were too much to handle in the quarter outscoring the Hornets 18-8 and giving FDU a 50-29 lead heading into the final 10 minutes. The last 10 minutes saw the Knights finish what they started. They jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the quarter and finished off the Hornets with a final score of 68-38
