BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU junior women's basketball junior Chloe Wilson put together a stellar performance against Bucknell on Wednesday, November 16 when  she scored 16 points and recorded seven rebounds. Wilson's performance against the Bison earned her Northeast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.
Leading the Burgundy and Blue to a 62-49 win over the Bison, Wilson was a steady contributor in fighting off the home team's comeback. She shot 4-for-9 from the field while shooting 8-for-11 from the charity stripe. The 16 points for Wilson was a season-high and was bested by her 26 (career high) points in the Knights' opening matchip against UIC as part of the Hostilo Community Classic in Savannah, Ga earlier today.
Through three contests this season Wilson is leading the Knights in total rebounds with 13 and second in total points and points per game with a respective 12.3 and 37. Before the season Wilson received the NEC honor of Preseason All-NEC.Â
Senior Celia Carbonell also received recognition this week as she was named an NEC Prime Performer for her perfect 4-for-4 three-point shooting versus Bucknell.
"I'm very proud of Chloe's performance last week and I'm super happy for her," said head coach Angelika Szumilo. "She continues to grow as a player and impact the game not just with her points and rebounds but more importantly in all other areas of the game such as leadership and commitment to our defensive mindset and playing with multiple efforts on both ends of the court."Â
FDU women's basketball looks to continue their streak when the Knights take-on Austin Peay tomorrow, November 22 in the second of three games as part of the Hostilo Community Hoops Classic in Savannah, Ga. at 11:30 a.m. live on BeTheBeast Live+.Â
