BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - No. 10 FDU senior
Cameron Spring (Allegany, N.Y./Allegany-Limestone) was named the Northeast Conference Bowler of the Week Wednesday after the first league meet of the 2022-23 season. Spring paced the eight-team league over two days with a conference-best 22.69 pins per frame. The righty filled 91.3 percent of her 70 frames bowled.
Leading FDU (20-10, 5-2 NEC) to five wins, including a 4-0 swing on the first day of the event, Spring notched a Knights-best 44 strikes (also league-high) for a 62.9 strike percentage. The Allegany, N.Y. native was stellar contributing 19-of-21 makeable spares (90.4 percent) and a leadoff strike percentage of 66.7. The senior finished far ahead of the pack with an unadjusted Baker average of 22.72 pins as FDU ended the meet with a total pinfall of 6,819 (second) and sits in third place behind No. 16 Sacred Heart.
Behind Spring is graduate student newcomer
Natalie Swindell who earned an NEC Prime Performer nod alongside junior
Julianna Spina. Swindell finished second in the field with a frame average of 2.59 and tallied 40 X's on the scorecard. Spina finished ninth in the standings and recorded 25-of-32 makeable spares (78.1 percent).
The Knights return to action on Friday, November 18 when the team takes part in the Eastern Shore Hawk Classic in Millsboro, Del.
