FDU Beats CCSU In An Exciting Three Set Match

HACKENSACK, Nj- FDU women's volleyball (10-11, 4-1) beat Central Connecticut (8-8, 2-3) at Stratis Arena in an exciting three-set, point for-point battle (25-23, 26-24, 27-25).

  • Kylie Nott led the team in kills with 13, followed by Sofia Rampazzo with 11. 
  • Tessa Fisk had eight blocks for the Knights and four kills.
  • The match had 38 tie points and 16 lead changes throughout. 
  • Allegra Rivas returned with 12 digs. 
How it Happened

Set 1 

  • FDU earned the first point off the hands of a back-row attack from Nott to start the match on a positive note and full of energy. 
  • The Knights played a close point-for-point set with CCSU until 23-23 when Tatijana Fucka and Fisk put two balls away to win the set 25-23. 
  • Nott had four kills and two blocks for the Knights. 

Set 2

  • CCSU took an early five-point lead (10-5) with strong defense at the net and FDU struggled to cover. After a time-out, the Knights sided out and Fisk closed that gap with a four-point run and an ace. 
  • Set two was played point for point until 24-24 when Rampazzo ended it with two kills. 
  • Rampazzo put down five kills and three aces for the Knights. 

Set 3 

  • Set Three was close throughout. CCSU gained a two-point lead to change the score 24-22. FDU tied the set 24-24, dropped a point and put away three to end the set off a block from Fisk and MacKenzy Ruggiero
  • Nott put down seven kills and Fisk had four blocks for the Knights.
