SINKING SPRING, Pa. - Senior
Ashley Sham paced the Burgundy and Blue and finished fifth in the individual standings as the No. 10 FDU women's bowling team concluded their first team-scoring competition of the 2022-23 campaign Saturday, taking part in the two-day Golden Bear Invite, hosted by Kutztown at Berks Lanes. The Knights (3-2) won their first two matches of the day before falling to No. 13 (DII/III) Caldwell and splitting the final two traditional scoring bouts of the afternoon. FDU resides in the fifth place slot among the team standings.

- Sham and junior Jennifer Oxman each posted scores of 212 to lead the team in the opener against Bloomfield.
- Sophomore Allysha Howard would roll a 245 game against the Griffins in the second match of the morning - the highest score of any FDU bowler on the day.
- The Lititz, Pa. native Sham would continue her dominance in her home state with a 202 game in the third, finishing with scores of 203 and 183 to round-out the traditional scoring portion of the Golden Bear Invite.
- Newcomer graduate student Natalie Swindell shined with a Knights-best 235 in the redemption win over Wilmington (Del.)
- Finishing her day with a 967, junior Julianna Spina sits eighth individually, followed by Howard in 16th (930).
FDU wraps up the tournament tomorrow with four Baker-scoring total pinfall contests followed by a one-round playoff for position seeding that will follow the Baker match play format. The action at Berks Lanes gets underway at 10:15 a.m.
