Women's Basketball Opens Stretch of Road Games at St. Francis Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Knights (8-8, 5-1 NEC) will begin a four-game stretch of conference road matches on Friday as they take on St. Francis Brooklyn (8-6, 4-2 NEC) at 6 p.m. in Daniel Lynch '38 Gymnasium.

Scouting the Terriers

Following two Covid forfeit losses, the Terriers have come out to a solid NEC campaign on a four-win streak. The Terriers most recently picked up a six-point win at LIU on Monday, shooting six-for-nine in the final quarter to take the lead and drop the Sharks.

Led by head coach Linda Cimino in her fourth season, St. Francis Brooklyn was selected to finish sixth in the conference's preseason poll. As a team, the Terriers average 62.8 points per game to rank third in the conference. 

Leading the Terriers is Ally Lassen recording an average 11.2 points per game, the eleventh most in the conference. The St. Francis Brooklyn roster also features two-time NEC Rookie of the Week Jaila Lee who secured the honor after posting seven rebounds and a season-high 16 points at Mount St. Mary's.

Scouting the Knights

The Knights are off to their best conference start since the '92-'93 season after dropping Wagner by 20-points on Monday. The Knights currently lead the NEC on a 5-1 conference record.

Chloe Wilson notched her second career double-double against Wagner with 19 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Wilson now ranks sixth in the conference with an average 12.6 points per game and 21 steals on the season. Aniya Bell and Rachael Niles both tallied double-digit points along with a combined ten rebounds and four assists to help guide the Knights in the decisive victory. As a team, FDU continues to average the most rebounds, assists and second most points in the conference.

The Knights will continue their spurt of road games on Sunday as they take on LIU at 2 p.m. in Brooklyn, N.Y. at Steinberg Wellness Center.
