Wilson's Double-Double Leads Women's Basketball Past Wagner

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (8-8, 5-1 NEC) led wire-to-wire en route a 73-53 victory over Wagner College (10-5, 4-2 NEC) on Monday afternoon inside the Rothman Center.

How it Happened 
  • The Knights used a 7-0 spurt spanning the first and second quarters to open up a double-digit lead. Rachel Niles contributed four points during the run while Chloe Wilson added three.
  • FDU forced the Seahawks into a timeout midway through the second quarter as Sierra DeAngelo and Anya Bell drained three-pointers on consecutive possessions to extend the lead to 16 at 35-19.
  • Wagner would get as close as eight the rest of the way, as FDU outscored Wagner 35-25 in the second half.
Inside the Box Score 
  • Wilson notched her second double-double of the season as she posted 19 points and season-high 10 rebounds. The sophomore also added three assists and two steals.
  • The Knights did not surrender a three-pointer for the first-time all season, as Wagner shot 0-for-8 from behind the arc.
  • Bell and Niles each added 13 points, as Bell chipped in seven rebounds and four helpers.
  • The Knights went 26-of-32 from the free-throw line led by a 11-of-12 performance from Wilson.
What's Next
The Knights hit the road on Friday to open a four-game road trip, facing off against St. Francis Brooklyn at 6 pm inside the Daniel Lynch '38 Gymnasium. The Knight return home to the Rothman Center on February 3 when they host the Terriers of St. Francis Brooklyn at 7 pm.
