NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's cross country team competed in its first event since the 2019 season at the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Graduate student
Shevan Parks led the Knights on the day, finishing the men's 8k event with a time of 29:25.7.
How it Happened
- Central Connecticut placed first overall with a total of 21 points and a total team time of 2:11:29 among the top five finishers. Wagner and Merrimack placed second and third respectively.
- CCSU's Eddie Nicholas won this year's Ted Owen Invitational with a time of 26:00.7
- The Knights concluded the day with a total team time of 2:38:16.
- Graduate student Shevan Parks improved his overall time by nearly 25 seconds from his mark at the same event in 2019, averaging a 5:55.2 mile in the process.
- Junior Yahnik Martin finished second for the Knights after clocking a 30:44.0
- Junior Alejandro Zapata followed closely behind with a time of 31:18.4
- Junior Alex Cedillo and Senior Duran Crooks rounded out the scoring for the Knights with times of 32:21.5 and 34:27.2 respectively.
- Conroy Ellis and Christopher Graham also competed for the Knights in the first event of the fall season.

FDU will compete again next weekend when they travel to Newark for the Highlander XC Invitational.
