Women's Volleyball Dropped by Bellarmine

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. - The FDU women's volleyball team was swept in Charlottesville on Friday in the second game of the University of Virginia Tournament.

Inside the Box Score

  • Graduate student Miriam Stingl led for the Knights on both sides of the court, tallying 13 kills, two blocks and nine digs for 14 points.

  • With a .417 clip, graduate student Alix Christie contributed seven points to the Knights cause with six kills and two blocks.

How it Happened

  • Bellarmine commanded the first set from the start. Off an eight-point run, FDU fell 25-10.

  • Another early run by Bellarmine jolted them into control. As FDU fought to shrink the gap with 12 kills off assists from Pauline Giordano, they were unsuccessful, dropping the set 25-20.

  • FDU took an early three-point advantage in set three but was unable to maintain it. With back-to-back service aces, Bellarmine jumped into the lead and defeated FDU 25-18.

Next Up

The Knights will take on Virginia tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Charlottesville on the second day of the University of Virginia Tournament. The match will be available for streaming at ACC Network Extra.
