Women's Soccer Beats Bryant 2-1 in Regular Season Finale

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team (5-3-0, 5-2-0 NEC) ended the 2021 regular season with a 2-1 victory over Bryant (3-4, 3-3 NEC) from Beirne Stadium on Tuesday night.

Junior Madelyn Robbins netted her third goal of the season in the first half off a shot from fellow junior Paula Ruess, who recorded her first assist of the year. Senior Alyssa Caggiano scored FDU's second goal in the second half and Robbins registered the assist on the play.

Coach Teepe's Thoughts
"I thought this was our best game all year. We created some really good and dangerous chances. We had a little bit of a lull at the end of the first half, but we picked the energy back up in the second half. We were close to getting a third goal. Giving one up at the end was disappointing, but this was our best game of the season."

"Maddie was on fire today and her energy was fantastic. If there is a shot, we tell our players to find the ball and she did that. This is a great was for Alyssa to end the season with a goal. We had some great energy from our seniors tonight. Tori was very impactful today and provides major energy for us. Our back line was fantastic today, we missed having Chloe and it was great to see her out there today."

"I felt our performance today was even better than the Semifinal win from last season against Bryant."
