Scouting the Knights

FDU (2-1-0, 2-0-0 NEC) opened NEC play with a pair of victories including a 1-0 win over Sacred Heart and a 4-0 wing against Wagner. In the win over Wagner, sophomore Naemi Hausen netted a goal and dished out two assists in the win. Junior Isabelle Udovc was named NEC Player of the Week after scoring a goal and recording two assists against Wagner. Last season's season-leading goal scorer Alexiane Marquis and junior Madelyn Robbins also scored in the match. In the win over Sacred Heart, senior goalie Cassandra Marcoux registered her first shutout and tallied a career-high 11 saves in the win. Marcoux was selected as the NEC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her performance against the Pioneers. Last year against St. Francis Brookyln, Udovc netted the game-winning goal as FDU recorded a 1-0 win. The Knights haven't lost an NEC regular season match since October 28, 2018 and have won or drew in 12 straight NEC regular season contests.

Coach Teepe's Thoughts
"I felt we did a good job controlling the ball in the first half, but we needed to be more aggressive in the second half," said head coach Eric Teepe following the win. "Getting that second goal gave us confidence and we became very aggressive. The second half showed us how potent we can be in the attacking part of the field."

"Naemi is so creative on the ball and we are still trying to find ways to get her the ball. By playing through her, she can really break down a defense and that was probably her best game for us."
"I've given our players the freedom to be creative on their own and get together to make decisions and read the defense on free kicks," said Teepe when asked about Robbins goal off the free kick. "That goal was big for our confidence for the remainder of the game."

"Izzy has been fantastic for us so far this season. We knew we could slide her in central right away and you can see her growth on the field. Izzy can be so dangerous for us going forward and we've always known how good she is."

"Alex plays with such emotion and puts pressure on herself. When she doesn't worry about things, which she did in the second half she can be dangerous on the attack."
