Baseball Announces 2021 Schedule

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team unveiled its 2021 schedule on Monday afternoon. The 37-game slate consists of 30 Northeast Conference matchups and seven non-conference games.

Second-year head coach Rob DiToma and the Knights are excited to get back on the field after their 2020 season was cut short after 13 games due to the pandemic.

"It's been a long time since we have been able to take the field," said DiToma. "We are beyond excited for the 2021 season. We have some quality opponents early in the year and the always tough, week in week out grind of the NEC.  But I know how excited the players and coaches are and we look forward to the challenge."

The first pitch of the 2021 campaign is set to be thrown on Saturday, March 6 in Easton, Pa. when the Knights take on Lafayette for a doubleheader. The team's 2021 home opener will take place the following day as the Leopards travel to Teaneck to face the Knights for a single game at 12:00 p.m.

In addition to Lafayette, the Knights will play a single road game at Seton Hall on Tuesday, March 9 before visiting DiToma's former team, Fordham for a three-game weekend beginning on Friday, March 12.

NEC action begins with six-straight home contests for the Burgundy and Blue at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. The Knights welcome Wagner (Mar. 19-21) and Central Connecticut State (Mar. 26-28).

The NEC schedule consists of three-game series with a 3:00 p.m. start on Fridays and 1:00 p.m. starts on both Saturday and Sundays.

The Knights begin April with road trips to LIU (Apr. 1-3) and Bryant (Apr. 9-11) before returning home for six games against  Mount St. Mary's (Apr. 16-18) and the league's newest member, Merrimack (Apr. 23-25).

After a pair of road meetings at Sacred Heart and Wagner, the Burgundy and Blue close out the home portion of their schedule May 14-16 against LIU. The 2021 regular season concludes with a road series at Central Connecticut  (May 20-22).

The four-team, double elimination 2021 NEC Baseball Tournament is set for May 27-30 at a yet to be determined site.
