Scouting the Sharks
The Sharks sit atop the NEC standings at 6-3 after the Knights took a pair from Bryant and the Sharks went 2-1 last week. The team opted out of non-conference contests this season so all nine of their games have come in league play. Last time out, the Sharks defeated their borough-rival St. Francis Brooklyn 102-88. Junior forward Eral Penn led the charge for the Sharks and shared NEC Player of the Week honors with
Jahlil Jenkins this week. Over the team's three games, Penn posted three consecutive double-doubles while averaging 20.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 blocks and 3.0 steals. The Sharks rank second in the league in scoring and scoring defense and own a +5.4 scoring margin against NEC foes this season.

Scouting the Knights
For the second week in a row, the Knights will face the top team in the NEC after knocking off Bryant last weekend. The Knights are playing their best basketball of the season, having won three of four and are averaging 88 points per game over that span. Jenkins was named NEC Co-Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 22.8 points on 50 percent (32-of-63) shooting, including 14-of-25 (56 percent) performance from three-point range. Jenkins added 3.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals to his ledger over the four-game stretch. In addition, he became the 10th Knight to eclipse 1,500 career points.
In addition, senior forward
Elyjah Williams is coming off of a 16-point, 14-rebound, seven-assist performance and currently ranks 13th in the nation in field goal percentage (61.8 percent). As a team, the Knights are connecting at a 44.8 percent clip from the field and 37.5 percent clip from three-point range this season -- both figures rank second in the league.
