NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. – No. 20 Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling came away victorious on Friday, downing 4,689 pins with a perfect 5-0 record on day one of the Garden State Classic hosted by Monmouth University. The Burgundy and Blue first faced New Jersey City (NJCU) and edged out an 833-811 Baker win against the Gothic Knights. For their second match of the tournament, FDU faced fellow NEC member no. 21 Sacred Heart, came away with a four-pinfall victory over the Pioneers, 953-949 (Baker).

Jenna Henderson, the Knights also defeated regional opponents in Caldwell, 819-809, host school Monmouth, 1071-972, and closed out the afternoon with a 1013-807 victory against Bloomfield.

Mike LoPresti said, "I'm extremely proud of our team. They all shared in the responsibilities of running the team and did it admirably.
LoPresti continued, "They overcame adverse situations, and as the day progressed the team came together and played like we were in mid-season form. We have a very mature team and this weekend it will pay dividends."
