Women's Volleyball Dropped by Lehigh in Home Matchup

HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Knights fell to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks in four sets on Tuesday in the Rothman Center.

Inside the Box Score

  • Junior Tessa Fisk steered FDU with 10.5 points, meeting her season-high with ten kills.

How it Happened

  • FDU jumped to an 8-3 advantage in set one following a five-point run with back-to-back kills by sophomore Madisyn Beirne. Lehigh gained momentum behind a four-kill streak by sophomore Lylah Washington, knotting the score at 22. Taking the set to an extra point, the Knights dropped the Mountain Hawks 26-24.

  • The Mountain Hawks maintained control throughout set two, topping the Knights 25-11.

  • Fisk paced the Knights in a tightly contested third set, depositing five kills to level the score at 16. With a series of attacks, the Mountain Hawks forced a gap to take the set 25-19.

  • Set four began in another tight battle until Lehigh freshman Megan Schulte broke open a lead with a series of kills. As the Knights fought to close the gap, they were unsuccessful, falling 25-17.

"Lehigh played an amazing match against us tonight, exploiting our weaknesses. We'll go back to the drawing board and work on new techniques before we face Saint Francis U on Saturday."

The Knights return to NEC play on Saturday as they travel to Loretto, Pa. to go head-to-head with Saint Francis U. (Pa.) at 6 p.m. in Degol Arena.
