HACKENSACK, N.J. - Women's volleyball (6-17, 1-8 NEC) was stifled by conference leaders Bryant (6-9, 8-1 NEC) on Friday in the Rothman Center.
How it Happened

The Bulldogs dropped the Knights 25-22 in a tight first set. FDU challenged Bryant with 11 kills and three blocks. Leading the Knights was graduate student Miriam Stingl with five kills on a .500 clip. With three kills of her own, senior Brooke Stevens posted a .750 clip in the first set.

As the teams traded control through the second set, a four-point run by the Bulldogs jolted them into the lead. It was a final service ace by Bryant's Mia Cergol that sealed the set for Bryant, 25-17.

Coming out on a seven-kill series, the Knights leveled the score at seven in a tight third set. As the teams began to trade points, a 6-1 run by the Bulldogs broke open a gap and closed the set 25-17.

"The match against the leading team in the NEC was tough on the Knights. We just couldn't convert. We were successful at the net with one of our best blocking performances of the season, but we could not get the points we needed in transition."
