The Blue Devils jumped out to a six-point lead early in set one. The Knights fought to close the gap on a 6-1 run, but were unsuccessful, dropping the set 25-19.

The Knights found themselves in a four-point deficit early in set two. On a 5-1 run, graduate student Alix Christie deposited a pair of kills to knot the game at 12. As the teams began to trade points, the Blue Devils found the momentum to take the set 25-22.

Set three was a back-and-forth affair. With three consecutive kills by Beirne, the Knights established a three-point edge. Unable to maintain the advantage, the Knights fell 25-21.

"There are no easy venues in the NEC conference. As a group, the ladies are learning that every team comes to play their best volleyball. We are starting to match their intensity and sooner or later we will break through."
