TEMPE, AZ – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's and women's tennis received individual and team academic awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
"Coach Caceres and I are extremely proud of how hard our teams work in the classroom, while maintaining a high level of performance and focus on the court," said head coach
Jeff Brandes.
In order to qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, a program must have compiled a 3.20 GPA or higher over the course of the 2019-20 academic year. The Knights were one of five NEC schools that received the All-Academic Team honor.
Both programs earned the ITA All-Academic Team Award for the fourth straight year. The men's program finished the 2019-20 academic campaign with a team GPA of 3.65. The women's program ended the year with a 3.81 team GPA.
The Knights also had 17 members between both programs earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards. A student-athlete must retain a GPA of 3.50 or higher to earn individual accolades. The eight men honored included juniors

Andris Gudins, sophomores
Mehdi Dhouib and
Niclas Pietsch, and freshmen
Andrei Oprisor and
Teodors Pukse. The nine women recognized are seniors
Patricia Eftenoiu,
Tatiana Eftenoiu, juniors
Aishwarya Gandotra and
Anamaria Vladescu, sophomores
Isabelle Ismanescu,
Smriti Singh, and
Aleksandra Vorozheikina, and freshmen
Shreya Gulia and
Alena Kubanova.
In Division I, 244 women's tennis programs and 186 men's teams earned All-Academic Team accolades. There were also 1,430 Division I women student-athletes and 979 male student-athletes recognized as Scholar-Athletes.
