Women's Bowling Signs Jennifer Oxman to NLI

TEANECK, N.J. – The nationally ranked Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team and head coach Mike LoPresti announced the signing of Jennifer Oxman to a National Letter of Intent to join the Knights beginning in the 2020-21 season.

A native of Lauderhill, Fla., Oxman is the first signing for the 13th-ranked Knights. Oxman is a four-time All-Broward County bowler for J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Fla., and she finished her high school career with a 200 individual game average. She earned her all-county honors all for years from both the Miami Herald and the Florida Sun-Sentinel.

"Jen will be a tremendous addition to our program," said Coach LoPresti. "Her experiences during her decorated high school career, junior tournaments and national level events have prepared her well for competition on the NCAA level. She loves to compete, is a relentless worker, and has a solid game to match. Her success in the classroom and on the lanes makes her a perfect fit in our program."

This past year, Oxman advanced to the top-16 of the FHSAA Individual State Girl's Bowling Finals, where she finished 13th in the entire state with a four-game series total of 840. She was the only bowler from Broward County to advance to the double elimination round of the state tournament. As a junior, Oxman placed first at her high school district championship with a 703 series.

Her current US Bowling Congress league average is at 210, and her highest individual game score is a 299. At the 2019 Junior Golds, Oxman finished in the top 200 out of 446 competitors, scoring a 715 series over her last four games of qualifying.

In the classroom, Oxman has been an honor student all four years of high school and achieved a weighted GPA above 4.0. She was also a member of her high school's debate team for each of the last three years.

Oxman has also in her hours outside of school and bowling served over 300 service hours in her local community, managing several junior bowling tournaments and volunteering to run events at her local elementary school.

The Florida native is the first bowler to join FDU's incoming class of 2024. The Knights (66-38) ended the 2019-20 season winning each of their last 10 matches and 21 of their last 28 overall since starting the last NEC regular-season meet on Feb. 22. FDU finished the season ranked 14th in the NCAA RPI rankings and in the NTCA Power Index Rankings, with the Knights' .635 winning percentage ranking 20th in the nation.
