Scouting the Knights
The Knights were selected first in this season's NEC Preseason Poll, their second time earning the designation in the
Greg Herenda era.
Jahlil Jenkins, an All-NEC Second Team honoree a season ago and classmate
Elyjah Williams were each named to the All-NEC Preseason Team. The Knights are coming off a campaign in which they averaged 72.2 points per game and shot 45.2 percent from the floor. As has been the case throughout Herenda's eight seasons at the helm, the Knights featured a balanced attack with four players averaging 10.0 or more points per game.
Coach Herenda's Thoughts Following Monday's Loss at Hofstra
"Our guys played their hearts out tonight. We played a very efficient first half, but we wore down in the second half and let's make no mistake about it, Hofstra is a very good basketball team. This team continues to get better every single day but it is going to take time to play consistently for the entire 40 minutes. Everyone is getting so much valuable experience right now and this will help us in our upcoming conference season and beyond."
