Women's Basketball Records First Win of 2020-21 Campaign Over Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y. – Sophomore Sierra DeAngelo was one of five Knights who scored in double-figures with a career-high 17 points as the Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team  (1-1) earned its first victory of the season with a 69-55 over Binghamton (0-1) on Wednesday afternoon at the Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Events Center.

DeAngelo scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half and connected on a career-high seven field goals. Freshmen Chloe Wilson and Taylor Crystian also netted career-highs in points with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Sophomore Maria Roters scored 12 and junior Lindsey Mack added 10 points in the win.

Coach Szumilo's Thoughts
"This was a great team win," said head coach Angelika Szumilo after the game. "Sierra was a difference maker with her offensive production and defensive stops by drawing four charges. We also had four other players score in double-digits. It was great to see Chloe and Taylor have strong offensive games off the bench. The way we started the second half set the tone for the rest of the game. We talked about letting them score too many points in the first half and that we needed to come out more focused on the defensive end."
