HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball program has announced graduate student
Collin McManus has transferred to FDU and will join the Knights for the upcoming season. Head Coach
Greg Herenda formally announced the addition of the 6-foot-10 center from University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday afternoon.
"Collin will obviously bring a great deal of size and experience to our front court," said Herenda. "He is an extremely physical big man that has skills both around the basket and on the perimeter. We are excited for Collin to bring another dimension to our program. He comes from championship programs at both Penn and Northfield Mount Hermon and we hope that he brings his winning ways to us at FDU."
McManus last played for the Quakers in the 2017-18 season when he appeared in nine games. Last season, the Bedford, New Hampshire native elected to sit out in order to retain eligibility but served as an everyday practice player. Across three seasons at Penn, McManus played in 29 games including the team's 2018 NCAA Tournament game against Kansas.
On his decision to join the Knights, McManus said, "I am very excited! When I visited this summer, the team was competitive throughout the workout and the coaches were fully invested in developing all of the players. The coaching staff is committed to making a winning team and I knew that I wanted to be a part of it."
Prior to his arrival at Penn, McManus was a McDonald's All-America nominee as a high school senior for Northfield Mount Hermon. In 2012-13, he helped lead the team to the National Prep Championship.
McManus is the final addition to the defending NEC Champion Knights, who will feature five newcomers in the 2019-20 campaign.
