HACKENSACK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson University athletics and Under Armour Inc. have agreed to a multi-year partnership as announced by Director of Athletics
Bradford D. Hurlbut on Monday morning. This is the first department-wide apparel deal in FDU athletics history.
"We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with Under Armour," said Hurlbut. "This union of two great brands will greatly benefit our student-athletes and department as we compete for Northeast Conference and NCAA Championships. I'm very proud of this association with Under Armour as the official outfitter of FDU's athletic programs. Simply put, we are #uKnighted!"
The Baltimore-based global leader in performance footwear, apparel, and equipment will become our official outfitter and will provide our 19 teams with on-field and off-field training gear, in addition to outfitting our coaching and athletic department staff.
Highlighted by the men's basketball team's historic run – which culminated in the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament game victory – the Burgundy and Blue enjoyed success throughout the department this past season. The FDU women's golf team dominated on the course and in the classroom by capturing their fourth Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship in the past five seasons and recording the conference's top team grade-point average. Individually, FDU junior fencer
Natalia Toby earned All-America honors for the second time in her career, junior men's golfer
Florian Schroedl won the NEC Individual Championship and senior baseball catcher
Evan McDonald was named the conference's student-athlete of the year.
The new agreement with Under Armour comes at an exciting time for FDU athletics as the department recently welcomed its new director Hurlbut, along with new leadership in both the baseball and women's basketball programs.
In signing this deal, the Knights will be joining the standout Under Armour roster of NCAA partners that includes the University of California, Los Angeles; the University of California, Berkeley; University of Wisconsin; University of Notre Dame; Naval Academy Athletic Association; University of Maryland; Texas Tech University; Northwestern University; University of Cincinnati; Boston College; University of Utah; University of South Carolina; Auburn University and Yale University.
