Fairleigh Dickinson Announces Baseball Coaching Change

TEANECK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson University Director of Athletics Bradford D. Hurlbut announced on Monday evening that Interim Head Baseball Coach Justin McKay has been relieved of his duties.

Hurlbut announces the change in leadership after the FDU baseball team posted a 15-37-1 overall record including a 9-15 mark in Northeast Conference action this season. McKay became the interim head coach on May 6, 2018 following the in-season retirement of eight-year head coach Gary Puccio. Last season, the team posted a 10-37 overall mark and a 1-26 record in league play.

"I would like to thank Justin for his service to Fairleigh Dickinson as well as his commitment to the baseball team," said Hurlbut.  "We wish him and his family the best in the next stage of their journey."

Prior to McKay's ascension to interim head coach, he spent six seasons as the Knights' recruiting coordinator under Puccio.

A national search for McKay's successor will begin immediately.
