TEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team announced the signings of Teodors Pukse and Andrei Oprisor, with both future Knights signing a National Letter of Intent to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University and play for the Knights beginning in the fall of 2019.
Pukse hails from Riga, Latvia, while Oprisor hails from Bucharest, Romania.
Pukse was a semi-finalist in the Wilson Pajulahti Cup. He has competed in the Estonian Junior Open and was a main draw participant in both the Ventspils Open and the Riga Open. Pukse has also played in several Latvian Futures tournaments.
"Teodors is a very talented player with a great work ethic," said head coach
Jeff Brandes. "Teodors has an authentic understanding of his game and I am excited about his eagerness to improve and compete. I believe he will have an immediate impact on our program, especially in doubles."

Paul Caceres said, "I have enjoyed working with Teodors during the recruitment process and am very excited to see him become a Knight. Teodors is an athletically gifted player with abilities that can lead to personal recognitions in addition to team success. We welcome Teodors to our Knights family."
Oprisor attended Mircea Eliade High School in Bucharest and was ranked first in his class for academics. He plans on majoring in business at FDU. This past year, Oprisor competed in several Romanian Futures tournaments and also participated in a U.S. College Tennis Tryout back in November.
"Andrei is a hardworking player with terrific potential," said Coach Brandes. "I am excited about his enthusiasm to get better as well as his cerebral approach to the game."
"Andrei has a great work ethic both on and off the court," said Coach Caceres. "Andrei will be an asset to our team and I look forward to seeing him accomplish great things for our program. We welcome Andrei to our Knights family."
Both players will begin competing for the Knights at the start of the 2019-20 season.
