Edge and Holloway Recognized as 2019 All-Northeast Conference

SOMERSET, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson senior captains Darnell Edge and Mike Holloway Jr. garnered All-Northeast Conference First and Second Team honors as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
 
This is the second conference honor for Edge, who earned All-NEC Third Team honors last season, while Holloway nets his second consecutive All-NEC Second Team recognition after earning All-Rookie Team honors as a freshman.
 
The senior duo, who won the 2016 NEC Championship as freshman, has propelled the Knights (17-13, 12-6 NEC) to a share of their first NEC Regular Season Championship since 2006 and a No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
 
One of the most decorated shooters in Fairleigh Dickinson history, Edge nets the first team nod, while recoding his best season as a Knight. The Saugerties, N.Y. native leads the NEC in both three-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage this season. On the campaign, Edge is averaging 16.2 points per game, which is fourth best in the league to go along with a 47.6 percent clip from behind the arc and an 87.9 percent effort from the line. His three-point field goal percentage currently ranks fourth best in the nation. Additionally, his career free throw percentage of 92.1 is second among active NCAA players.
 
Edge has also logged 3.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game and knocked down 79 3-pointers on the season. This season, he registered career-point No. 1,000 and currently ranks second all-time at FDU in 3-pointers made (188) and sits 12th in points (1,335).
 
One of the conference's preeminent big men across his four seasons wearing the Burgundy and Blue, Holloway takes home his second All-NEC Second Team award. The Pittsgrove, N.J. product is shooting 50.2 percent on the season while averaging 12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Holloway has been red-hot as of late logging a career-high 35 points on February 21 against Sacred Heart and an 18-point, 14-rebound performance last Saturday at Mount St. Mary's. The senior forward currently ranks 11th at FDU with 1,430 career points, sixth in rebounds with 756 and ninth in blocks with 104.
 
The Knights host No. 7 seed Wagner on Wednesday night in the NEC Quarterfinals. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Rothman Center.
