NEWARK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's cross country team had four runners set personal records (PR) at the Highlander XC Invitational in the 8k event ran in Branch Brook Park on Saturday afternoon.
"I'm happy with the way our men's team performed today and the results from today's meet," said head coach
Sharlene Milwood-Lee. "Our runners had fresh legs coming into the meet and I felt that we performed well today. I think there are a lot of positives we can build on after seeing what I did today."
RESULTS
The host NJIT won the event with a score of 33. NYIT junior Noah Simatei won the 8k event with a time of 24:53.93.
Burgundy and Blue senior
Shevan Parks was the first Knight to finish with a mark of 27:12.91 in his final time running at the Highlander XC Invitational and placed 47th overall. The senior improved his time at Branch Brook Park by over 30 seconds from a season ago. Parks has finished in the top two among his teammates in each of the Knights first three events of the season. Christopher Graham was the second Knight to cross the finish line and improved his pace by over two minutes this time around with his 27:45.76 mark.

Justin Cadas placed third among his teammates with a time of 28:47.30. Cadas beat his PR time on this course by over a minute and a half. He has placed in the top three of the Knights first three meets. Junior
Sandley Elysee finished right behind Cadas with a mark of 28:50.56 and saw his PR improve the most by finishing over three minutes faster. Sophomore
Duran Crooks rounded out the Knights top five with a 30:11.98 time.
Freshmen
Alejandro Zapata (30:26.57),
Conroy Ellis (31:36.78) and
Kenroy Ellis (33:27.94) made their debuts at the Highlander XC Invitational. Senior

Keion Oglesby, and sophomore
Brandon Malone also competed for the Knights.
The Knights will round out their regular season by competing in the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. at Stanley Quarter Park.
