KNIGHTS NOTES
The Knights embark on their longest road trip of the NEC season to face the Colonials and Red Flash this weekend seeking their first conference victory of 2019. The Burgundy and Blue (1-17, 0-4 NEC) are coming off of a 1-2 week, which included a straight-set triumph at Manhattan.

Sophomore Sophia Spiridonakos continues to excel in her second season with the Knights and has increased her output in all categories this season. Last week, the Pennsylvania native notched her single-match, career-highs in both kills and digs. Spiridonakos, who is set to return to her hometown area on Friday, recorded 10 digs in the Knights' win at Manhattan and 10 kills in the three-set loss to St. Francis Brooklyn.

As a team, the Knights are currently fourth in the league in blocks with a 1.69 blk/set average. Spiridonakos and classmate Brooke Stevens are at the forefront of the effort averaging .68 and .67 blocks, respectively.

SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
The Colonials, who opened the season by winning their first 10 matches, sit atop the league standings with an unblemished 4-0 mark. The team currently leads the NEC in every category including kills (12.89 k/set) and blocks (2.95 blk/s). Emma Granger is the key to the attack as she ranks second in the conference with a .353 hitting percentage to go along with 2.91 kills per set. Setter Whitney Brown has doled out a league-best 9.57 assists per set. The duo collected NEC accolades on Monday as Brown garnered NEC Player of the Week and Granger was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week.

SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
The Red Flash have dropped three straight outings after earning their first conference win of the season against Merrimack. Over the three-game skid, the Red Flash failed to win a set falling to Sacred Heart, Bryant and Robert Morris on the road. Sophomore Madi Tyus leads the team's attack and currently ranks second in the NEC with 3.66 kills per set, while sophomore setter Kimmy Sweeney is third in the league with 8.00 assists per set.

NEXT UP
The Knights return home for their next two matches including their annual Dig Pink Match on Friday, October 18 against Sacred Heart.
