Chrzanowski Named NEC Bowler of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling sophomore Amanda Chrzanowski was named the Northeast Conference Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Schenectady, N.Y., native guided the seventh-ranked Knights to a fourth place finish in the Kutztown Invitational, where the Knights placed better than 16 of 20 ranked teams in the tournament field. Chrzanowski finished with a 20.59 overall frame average and filled 87.5 percent of her frames, rolling strikes in 52.2 percent of her frames as well.

The sophomore averaged 198.2 pins per game in the Knights' traditional team matches, including a high score of 220 against Youngstown State. Chrzanowski contributed a 190-pin effort to the Knights' win over defending national champion Vanderbilt and fired a 203 game in a win over no. 20 UAB later in the day.

The second-year Knight performed her best in the Baker play portions of the three-day event. Chrzanowski averaged 21.03 pins per baker frame and doubled 26 times while helping FDU win six of eight Baker matches, including a win over eventual tournament champion and tenth-ranked Stephen F. Austin.

Chrzanowski for the season leads the Knights with a 50 percent conversion rate in Baker doubles. She is averaging 19.32 pins per frame in Baker matches and 18.92 pins per frame in traditional matches, and her 82.8 percent filled frames rate in traditional matches is second-best on the team.

She is the fourth different Knight to earn NEC weekly honors this season, joining teammates Deborah Epps and Samantha Hart as bowler of the week winners. Freshman Lanasia Neal earned NEC Bowling Rookie of the Week earlier this season as well.

The Knights next compete in the Prairie View A&M Invitational in Arlington, Texas, from February 1-3.
