HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson volleyball team is set for their home-opening weekend as they welcome LIU Brooklyn and St. Francis Brooklyn to the Rothman Center for Northeast Conference action.
The Knights (2-10) return home to open NEC play after 12 straight road matches to begin the season.

The Knights posted 1-2 record last weekend at the Lafayette Invitational, defeating Delaware State in five sets and falling 3-0 to both Hartford and the host Leopards. In the victory over Delaware State (25-20, 25-9, 23-25, 18-25, 15-4), sophomore
Erin Singer amassed a career-best 18 kills, while freshmen
Jessica Throckmorton and
Corina Beimers recorded double-doubles. Throckmorton hammered 12 kills with 12 digs and Beimers doled out 34 assists and totaled 13 digs.
BEIMERS ALL-TOURNAMENT
Beimers handed out 67 assists (6.09 a/set) over the weekend at Lafayette and was named to All-Tournament Team. In the five-set win over Delaware State, the freshman setter logged 34 assists and 13 digs -- both career-highs.
BROOKE'S BLOCKS
Freshman middle,
Brooke Stevens ranks second in the NEC with .98 blocks per set. The Ontario native matched her season-best six blocks last weekend in the victory over Delaware State.
SCOUTING LIU BROOKLYN
The reigning NEC Champion Blackbirds begin conference play with a 3-6 non-conference mark. The Blackbirds currently pace the NEC in digs per set with 16.47 average, which ranks 47
th in the nation. Junior libero Natalia Rivera leads the team and the conference with a 5.03 digs per set average. LIU claimed both meetings against FDU last season, going 3-1 and 3-0.
SCOUTING ST. FRANCIS BROOKLYN
The Terriers open their NEC weekend with a 4-9 overall record and dropped all three matches at the Big Apple Battle last weekend. The team suffered straight-set losses to Columbia and Dartmouth, while falling 3-1 at Fordham. Junior Sidney Colvey leads the team with 2.7 kills per set, while both Nina Tied and Gabriella Nobrega are averaging 5+ assists per set to begin the season. The Knights and Terriers split a pair of 3-0 sweeps last season, with each team winning on their home floor.
