TEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team will host its final series of the season, facing off against the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State for a three-game slate. All three games will have live stats coverage and air on NEC FrontRow.
Due to Saturday's forecast, the series has been changed to a nine-inning doubleheader on Friday, May 11 beginning at 1:30 p.m. and a single game for Sunday's senior day at 1:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Knights squared off with Sacred Heart last weekend, dropping all four games to the Pioneers. Despite the outcomes, the Knights exploded with a power surge at the plate, hitting nine home runs in the four games. Starting pitcher Cory Zeller continued his strong junior campaign, notching a quality start, throwing seven innings and only allowing two runs.
SELTZER SPARK
After notching his first career home run two weeks ago against Saint Peter's, sophomore Brandon Seltzer continued his hot hitting last weekend, going 5-for-16, including three more home runs to provide an instant spark for FDU.
MR. MCDONALD
"Iron Man" Evan McDonald has been an integral part to the Knights the entire season, having started in all 42 games, the junior catcher continues to rake at the plate, hitting .309 in 139 plate-appearances. The junior leads the team in batting average, runs scored (28), hits (43), home runs (8), RBIs (28), total bases (84), OBP (.404), triples (3)
PISTOL PETE'S PERFORMANCE
The Knights received a big time performance from freshman Pete Theodorellis against Sacred Heart. Forced upon in a tight situation, the freshman gave interim head coach Justin McKay 5.1 quality innings out of the bullpen in the final game, along with registering two hits the first game of the series and scoring two runs.
SENIOR SUCCESS
Senior's Joe Flack and Jason Fatzinger will play their final home games at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex this weekend. The duo contributed four successful years for the Knights, as Fatzinger has compiled 119 hits, along with 56 RBIs in his four seasons for the Burgundy and Blue. The Macungie, Pennsylvania native tallies a .262 average in his four seasons. Flack, the senior from Staten Island, contributed right away for the Knights, tossing 54.1 innings over his freshman season. One of the senior's biggest moments for the Knights came when he was a sophomore, earning a win by throwing six quality innings against powerhouse Bryant in the 2015 NEC Tournament. In his career, Flack has appeared in 35 games, starting 19 of them, posting a 4.94 ERA.

ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
Central Connecticut State comes into Friday with a record of 15-26 (9-16). The Blue Devils currently rank fourth in the NEC with a .271 batting average, and a 5.50 ERA. CCSU is currently in a battle for the last remaining playoff spot in the conference, sitting in sixth place. The top four teams in the NEC qualify for postseason play.
