EGG HARBOR, Twp, N.J. -- The No. 10 Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team rolled to a 4-1 start at the Monmouth Hawk Invitational.
Playing five total pinfall Baker matches, the Knights overcame an early setback to Vanderbilt by topping Norfolk State, Roberts Wesleyan, Delaware State and Belmont Abbey to close Friday with a 4-1 record. Across the five matches the Knights averaged 189.8.
The Knights dropped their opening match to Vanderbilt 950-933 with wins in game two and game four. A lineup of
Brianna MacLeod,
Amanda Schilling,
Deborah Epps,
Amanda Chrzanowski, and
Karsyn Lukosius was featured by FDU for the first three games of the opening match before head coach
Mike LoPresti's one change on the day was to go to
Amy Caruso in place of
Aimee Sherman in the third Baker game of match one.
After falling to the Commodores, the Knights regrouped and took care of business against the rest of their opponents. The Knights logged wins over Norfolk State (990-829), Roberts Wesleyan (1,013-718), Delaware State (916-904) and Belmont Abbey (892-787).
