Men's Tennis Captures First Win Over Howard

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team captured its first win of the season on Monday, defeating Howard 6-1.  

In No. 4 singles, Adam Chan put on a dominating performance, defeating Sagar Raju in straight sets 6-3, 6-0. 

In No. 1 singles, Niclas Pietsch was matched up with Karim Shokeir and Pietsch did not disappoint, defeating the fellow Bison 6-4, 6-3.  

Maciej Autuch and Miki Nobuzawa each picked up wins as well for the Knights, as Autuch defeated Kyle Martin in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Nobuzawa also had a clean win, knocking off Devaughn Blackburn by the same score 6-1, 6-1. 

In No. 3 singles, Andris Gudins gutted out a three-setter as he knocked off Cole Gittens 6-7, 6-2, 10-7. 

In doubles, The Burgundy and Blue were led by the pairs of Andris Gudins and Chan, as well as Autuch and Nobuzawa. Gudins and Chan tallied a 6-4 win at the No. 2 spot, while Autuch and Nobuzaza flexed their muscle, defeating their opponent 6-3, to secure the doubles point for the Knights.  

The men's tennis team will return to action tomorrow, as they will battle against the Bulldogs of Butler at 2:00 p.m.
