NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Despite a five-RBI performance from junior catcher 
Evan McDonald the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team fell at Belmont 25-9 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights (0-2) were unable to slow the Belmont (3-3) offense, which logged its 25 runs on 25 hits.
 
McDonald was the story for the Knights as he went 3-for-5 at the dish with two runs and a career-best five RBIs. The junior backstop also launched his first home run of the season – a three-run shot in the top of the fifth.
 
Senior right fielder 
Jason Fatzinger continued his hot start to the season by homering for the second time in as many games. Fatzinger finished 1-for-3 on the day with the solo blast.
 
After an RBI single by sophomore third baseman 
Owen VonEsslinger put the Knights in front 1-0 in the top of the second, the Bruins came roaring back with four tallies in the home half of the inning, highlighted by right fielder Matt Cogen's two-run triple.
 
Cogen had an outstanding afternoon, going 5-for-7 with six RBIs and three runs scored. Cogen's three-run blast in the eighth capped the afternoon's scoring and resulted in the home team's largest lead.
 
Making his collegiate debut, FDU starter Aaron Cohn went two innings allowing four earned on five hits, while striing out three. Classmate Chris Quijano took the mound for his first time as a Knight and struggled in his 1.1 inning of work, permitting eight earned on eight hits before giving way to another freshman, Peter Theodorellis.
 
Theodorellis, who debuted yesterday for the Knights at third base, took to the mound and provided 2.1 innings of four-run work, while striking out a pair.
 
Despite surrendering seven earned, Belmont's Connor Etheridge (2-0) picked up the victory. The right-hander struck out six and allowed 10 hits across his five innings of work.
 
In addition to McDonald's offensive performance, sophomore center fielder 
Brandon Seltzer enjoyed a three-hit day to go along with two runs, while VonEsslinger finished 2-for-4.
 
The Knights close out the weekend tomorrow against Lipscomb. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. (EST) at Dugan Field in Nashville.
