MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Fairleigh Dickinson volleyball team fell in three sets at Robert Morris 25-21, 25-15, 25-15 on Friday night.
In the loss, the Knights (2-27, 0-13 NEC) were limited a .053 attack percentage, while the Colonials (11-17, 5-8 NEC) registered a .287 percentage.
Junior outside hitter
Erika Sullivan finished with eight kills to top the Knights' box score, while sophomore
Nataliya Rybakova added seven.
Taylor Lord double-doubled for the Colonials with 15 kills and 13 digs.
Despite a pair of 4-0 runs by the Knights in the opening set, the Colonials led wire-to-wire to take a 1-0 match lead.
The second set saw the home team notch the first nine points and lead by at least five for the duration of the frame. After Rybakova recorded a kill to make it a 21-15 game, the Colonials rattled off the final four points to close out the set.
Freshman
Brooke Stevens buried a kill in the third set to bring the Knights within one, 7-6, before the Colonials ran off and eventually established a 19-11 lead. With the eight-point lead, the home team scored six of the final 10 points to complete the three-set sweep.
The Knights close out the 2018 campaign tomorrow when they face Saint Francis U at 5:00 p.m. in Loretto, Pa.
