No. 9 Bowling Picks Up Three More Wins at Caldwell

ROCKAWAY, N.J. – The ninth-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team continued competition at the Caldwell University Classic Saturday, picking up three more victories in five traditional matches.

The Knights started the second day with victories over no. 15 Adelphi and Bloomfield before dropping a close match to NEC rival Sacred Heart. Fairleigh Dickinson rebounded with a win over host Caldwell before ending the day with a loss to eighth-ranked Delaware State.

FDU after two days rests in seventh place in the standings with a 6-4 record, averaging 175.6 over 10 matches with a total of 8,780 pins.

"Today was another positive day because we finished the day with more wins than losses," said head coach Mike LoPresti after the day. "There were some improvements throughout the day, but we still are not anywhere near where we need to be. Tomorrow, we'll be back at it, and the plan is for continued improvement and to be more competitive."

Sophomore Aimee Sherman led the Knights in the traditional matches with a total pin fall of 924, averaging 184.8 pins per game for the 10th-best average among all bowlers. Her first game of the day was her best, rolling a 245.
