Women's Soccer Plays at Wagner Sunday Afternoon

TEANECK, N.J. – Fresh off a third straight victory Friday, the Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team seeks to extend its winning streak Sunday afternoon at Wagner.

The match begins at 1 p.m. on Grymes Hill, and the contest will be streamed live on NEC Front Row. Live stats will also be available, provided by Wagner.

ENTERING THE KNIGHT
The Knights (5-7-3, 3-1-1 NEC) broke through with two second-half goals to earn a 2-0 victory Friday against LIU Brooklyn. The win was the team's third straight conference win and moved the Knights into a tie for second place in the NEC standings with Saint Francis U. Sophomore Viktorija Miseljic and senior Elma Kolenovic provided the goals for the Knights, with Miseljic breaking a scoreless game with her fifth goal of the season in the 65th minute.

TRICKY VICKY
Miseljic with her goal gained her team-best 12th point of the season. She has scored a goal in two of the previous three contests, improving to fifth in the NEC in points and tied for fourth in goals scored. The sophomore also has two game-winning scores this season. In her career, Miseljic moved to 29 career points on 11 goals and seven assists, rising into the top 15 in Knights history in career points.

ELMA THE GREAT
Kolenovic notched her 20th career goal in the victory over LIU Brooklyn, the fourth player in Knights history to reach the 20-goal mark. She also moved into third all-time in career points (54), moving past her former teammate Jessi Reinhardt in the process. The senior also ranks fifth in Knight history in career assists (14). Kolenovic needs two more points (one goal) to move into second on the Knights' all-time points list.

GREAT WALL OF FITZGERALD
Junior goalkeeper Amanda Fitzgerald recorded her second straight shutout in the 2-0 victory over LIU Brooklyn, saving four shots in the process. Her four total shutouts this season are the third most in the NEC, and her 11 career shutouts are also the third most in program history. Fitzgerald increased her career saves total to 283, the third most among active juniors in NCAA Division I.

SERIES SCORE
FDU leads the all-time series against Wagner 10-6-2, having gone 4-0-2 in the previous six meetings. The Knights have won each of the past three matchups, including last season's 4-0 victory at University Stadium. FDU also won the last time the two teams met on Staten Island, 1-0 in the 2016 season. Grymes Hill, however, has not been as kind to the Knights, with Wagner winning four of eight times there compared to FDU winning seven of 10 times at University Stadium.

SCOUTING WAGNER
The Seahawks (2-11, 1-4 NEC) picked up their first NEC win of the season against LIU Brooklyn October 6 on an overtime goal. They then lost their next game against Sacred Heart, 3-1, on Friday. Wagner has struggled to score this season, notching only seven goals in 13 matches. Two players have scored five of the seven goals, with junior Maria Nunez notching three of the goals to lead the team, and sophomore Le'la Allen recording two goals. Senior goalkeeper Katie Viscardi has started 12 matches in net for the Seahawks, making 54 saves and allowing 24 goals for a 2.23 goals-against-average in 969 minutes.

AROUND THE NEC
League-leading Central Connecticut State improved to 5-0 in conference games with a 2-1 victory over Bryant. Saint Francis U, who is tied in second place with FDU, plays Robert Morris Saturday, and with an SFU loss, FDU will occupy second place solely with a win over Wagner. SFU and FDU meet next Saturday in a rematch of the NEC Championship match from last season.
