Women's Soccer Hosts Cornell in Play with Pride Game

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team concludes the non-conference portion of the schedule against Cornell on Sunday at 3 p.m. at University Stadium.
 
PLAY WITH PRIDE
Saturday versus Cornell the women's soccer team will show its support for the LGBT community by wearing rainbow shoelaces during the game. This week (September 18-24) is Play with Pride Week in association with United Soccer Coaches Association. LAST TIME OUT
The Knights fell 3-2 on a late goal at Eastern Washington on Sunday. Sofia Albertsson and Elma Kolenovic scored prior to the Eagles getting the game-winning goal with less than three minutes remaining.
 
SERIES SCORE
For the fifth time this season, the Knights will face a school for the very first time in Cornell on Sunday afternoon. All-time against the Ivy League, Fairleigh Dickinson is 1-8 – 1-7 versus Columbia, 0-1 against Penn and Dartmouth.
 
SCOUTING CORNELL
The Big Red fell to Columbia on Friday night, 2-0, in the Ivy League opener for both sides. The loss moves Cornell to 2-4 on the season. Cornell has alternated wins and losses over its last four games. Four goals have been scored by Cornell this season and four different players have scored those markers. Meghan Kennedy has started all six games in goal for the Big Red. The junior owns a 1.95 GAA and a .725 save percentage.  
 
CONNECT FOUR
Freshman midfielder Sofia Albertsson has scored in each of her last four games. The first-year Knight is second on the team in goals with four this season and points with nine.

BACK-TO-BACK HONORS
Albertsson was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the second straight week on Monday. Albertsson is the first rookie to win multiple awards this season.
 
TIED FOR THE LEAD
Elma Kolenovic is tied for the lead in the NEC in goals with five on the season. The junior has totaled 16 in her career – T6 in program history. The junior has scored at least five goals in each of her three seasons as a Knight.
 
WIN TOTAL
Head coach Eric Teepe is three wins away from tying and four from break the all-time wins' record for Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer. Teepe has totaled 39 wins over his three-plus seasons at the helm of the Knights and holds an overall record of 39-28-3 (.579).
 
GOING FORWARD
As a team, Fairleigh Dickinson owns the best offense in the NEC with 15 goals this season. The Knights are T1 in points (42) with Saint Francis U.
 
GETTING BACK
The Knights have allowed 21 goals this season, which is tied for ninth in the NEC with Saint Francis U. Fairleigh Dickinson is sixth in GAA at 2.05 over 922 minutes.
