No. 8 Women's Bowling Comes Home Second at FDU NJ Jamboree

DAY THREE
STRATFORD, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team faced Sacred Heart twice on Sunday, and the Knights went 1-1 against the Pioneers. Unfortunately for the Knights, the win came in the first round of bracket play, and the loss came in the championship match on Sunday.
 
Bracket play on Sunday was best-of-seven baker matches for the teams.
 
The No. 8 Knights topped the Pioneers 4-2 in the first round on Sunday. The Knights dropped game one but then got back even with a 196-189 win in game two. The teams split games three—FDU win—and four—SHU win. The Knights then won games five and six 201-188 and 258-154 respectively to take the win and move into the championship match.
 
Sacred Heart went on to beat Monmouth in five games to set up a rematch with Fairleigh Dickinson.
 
In the rematch, the Pioneers came out on top in six games to claim the title. The Pioneers won games one and two with a 203 and 222. The Knights got one back in game three by the slimmest of margins, 216-215. The two sides traded wins in games four, five and six. Sacred Heart won two-of-three to get the win and claim the title.
 
Adelphi and Monmouth rounded out the top four.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson returns to the lanes this coming weekend out in Kenosha, Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Whitewater Classic.  

DAY TWO
STRATFORD, N.J. – The eight-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson went 4-1 for a second straight day at the FDU NJ Jamboree, and the Knights will enter bracket play on Sunday in the number one spot after posting a 199.6 average over the first two days of competition.
 
The Knights had the best average by five pins over Sacred Heart and nine pins over Monmouth in third. Saturday featured wins over Felician, Adelphi, Howard and Bethune Cookman. The setback—like Friday came in the last match—came against Sacred Heart.
 
Individually for the Knights, Karsyn Lukosius had a strong day and was the top individual with a 243.6 average. The senior was not below 209 over five games and had a single-game high of 276. Jenna Henderson and Aimee Sherman were 13th and 14th respectively with 193 and 192 averages over five games.
 
The Knights started the day with a victory over Felician, 939-810. Henderson had a 217 to lead the way. Lukosius rolled a 209.
 
Match number two of the day saw the Knights top Adelphi, 1,118-999. Amanda Chrzanowski led the way with a 268. Lukosius tallied a 255 against the Panthers. Sherman joined Lukosius over 200 with a 202. Brianna MacLeod got her first action of the day and rolled a 204.  
 
Fairleigh Dickinson—like Friday—won its first three matches of the day after beating Howard, 1,102-883. A quartet of Knights were over 200 over the Bison. Lukosius tallied a 276, her best and best by a Knights on the day. Henderson and MacLeod were a 217 and 215 respectively. Sherman was the fourth in the 200s at a 205.
 
A fourth straight win for the Knights came against the Bethune Cookman, 988-737. Lukosius once again led the way for Fairleigh Dickinson with a 244. Henderson was over 200 for a third time at a 207. Henderson did the same with a 202.
 
Sacred Heart topped Fairleigh Dickinson 897-890 to conclude the day. Like she had in the previous four match, Lukosius led the Knights with a 234. Sherman was second on the squad with a 195. Rachel Bamford led the Pioneers with a 240.
 
In bracket play on Sunday, the Pioneers and Knights will face off to start things. The winner will face the winner of Monmouth and LIU Brooklyn.


DAY ONE
STRATFORD, N.J. – The eighth-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team finished the first day of the FDU NJ Jamboree at the top of the standings with a 197.8 per game average.
 
The Knights went 4-1 on the day over five baker matches. The 197.8 average puts the Knights in front Sacred Heart for first by 0.7 pins. The Pioneers went a perfect 5-0 on Friday.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson topped LIU Brooklyn, Franklin Pierce, Caldwell and Chestnut Hill and fell to Monmouth.
 
The day started well for the Knights as they put one in the win column with a 945-926 triumph over LIU Brooklyn. In the match, Fairleigh Dickinson was between 183 and 192 in each of the five games.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson made it two-for-two on the day with a 1,048-761 win over Franklin Pierce. The Knights created separation in games four and five with totals of 278 and 247.
 
Another Northeast Conference foe awaited the Knights in match three—Caldwell. The Knights improved on their 1,048 total from the last match to a 1,059 to beat the Cougars 1,059-910. The Knights went 207, 213, 225, 228 in games two through five.
 
The fourth match of the day saw the Knights take on Chestnut Hill. The Knights topped the Griffins by a mere seven pins, 899-892. The Knights tallied 162 in games one and three. A 201 in game three was the high mark for Fairleigh Dickinson in the match.
 
Unfortunately for Fairleigh Dickinson, the day ended with a defeat. Fellow New Jersey school Monmouth topped the Knights, 1,049-994. The Knights had 217 and 222 in games three and four against the Hawks.
 
The action continues tomorrow down at 30 Strikes Lanes in Stratford, New Jersey. Five traditional team games are on tap for the squads.
