"Give credit to Saint Peter's -- they distanced themselves from us early in the second half and we just could not dent their lead," said head coach
Greg Herenda following the loss. "We just never got into an offensive rhythm tonight in this building. Darian and Jahlil [Jenkins] made a lot of things happen for us but we needed more than just two guys tonight. Also,
Elyjah Williams really competed on both backboards -- but we just looked very young out there tonight. We will learn from this, move on and improve."

Anderson canned three consecutive three-pointers for a 9-4 Knights' lead five minutes into play. After a strong start, the Knights went cold and Saint Peter's took advantage aided by a pair of three-pointers by Idowu.

With the Knights' struggling to score, the Peacocks captured a double-digit lead, 28-18 with just under three minutes to go in the half. At that point, the Knights were just 6-of-22 (27.2 percent) from the field.

With five points from Anderson, the Knights chipped away and closed to within 12, 56-44 at the under-eight media timeout, however, a pair of three-pointers by Griffin and Davauhnte Turner squashed the momentum and prevented the deficit from shrinking any further.

The Peacocks eventually increased their lead to as large as 25 points before the final horn sounded.
