Women's Soccer Hosts Bryant in NEC Tournament Friday Morning

HACEKNSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team hosts No. 4 seed Bryant at 11 a.m. on Friday morning at University Stadium. 

The Knights are hosting the NEC Tournament for the third time in four seasons. The second semifinal between No. 2 seed Saint Francis U and No. 3 seed Central Connecticut State will play at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The championship game will on Sunday at 12 p.m. at University Stadium. All three games can be seen live on necfrontrow.com. 

FIRST TOUCH
FDU hosts the NEC Tournament for the third time in four seasons. The Knights are 1-1 in terms of winning the tournament title in the previous two occurrences. 

SERIES SCORE
The Knights are 3-6 all-time in NEC Tournament play. Friday will be the first meeting between Bryant and Fairleigh Dickinson in postseason play. 

LAST TIME OUT
The Knights beat Mount St. Mary's 3-1 on Sunday to clinch the top seed and host the NEC Tournament. The Knights won the tiebreaker with Saint Francis U when both teams finished at 6-1-1 in NEC play. 

POSTSEASON PLAY
It is the Knights eighth conference tournament appearance and fifth straight. FDU seeks a second consecutive tournament title on its home field. Back in 2015, the Knights won the program's first tournament title at University Stadium. 

FRIENDLY CONFINES
Fairleigh Dickinson is 6-2-1 at home this season and hopes to move that record to 8-2-1. The six wins are T3 in a single season at home in program history. FDU won seven back in 2014 and 10 in 2015 -- FDU was 10-0 in 2015.   

TRUST IN TEEPE
Head coach Eric Teepe is 25-4-3 in NEC regular season games in four seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson. He is also 2-2 in the NEC Tournament. The 25 wins are the most conference wins by a head coach in program history. 

ALL-TIME LEADERS
Teepe also became the overall wins leader at FDU this season with the win over Bryant back on Oct. 15. Teepe sits at 45 wins at FDU and has won over .600 percent of his games. 

Jessi Reinhardt became Fairleigh Dickinson's all-time leader in assists with 21 this season, which happened at Robert Morris (10/20). Reinhardt has since added one more to have 22 for her career. The senior's last assist gave her 50 career points. 

FRESH FACES
Newcomers, Albertsson and Miseljic, have combined for 39 of the Knights' 92 points this season and 15 of the Knights 32 goals. Classmates, Chloe Chefero, added a goal and Alyssa Caggiano and Gabby Garcia each added an assist. In total, the freshmen class accounted for 16 goals and 11 assists for 43 points. 

TOP 2 in the NEC
For the third straight season, the Knights led or shared the lead in goals (32) in the NEC, SFU also scored 32 this season. The Knights were second to the Red Flash in points (92), goals per game (1.68), assists (28), assists per game (1.47). 

POINTS STREAK
Kristina Neri has scored twice in each of the last two games -- had not scored this season prior. Sofia Albertsson has had an assist in two straight contests and scored against Mount St. Mary's in the season finale. 

WEEKLY HONORS
The Knights -- along with SFU -- were the two teams in the NEC to have a player at least share NEC Player & Rookie of the Week four times during the regular season. Kristina Neri shared the honor this week, Viktorija Miseljic was named POTW twice -- 8/21, 10/9 (won ROTW those same weeks). Jessi Reinhardt won POTW back on 10/16. Sofia Albertsson won Rookie of the Week twice -- 9/11 & 9/18. 

NON-CON SLATE
FDU faced some fierce competition in non-league play. Eastern Washington went on to win the Big Sky Regular Season Title. Gonzaga finished with 10 wins. Monmouth won 14 games and the MAAC Regular Season Title. Buffalo qualified for the MAC Tournament -- lost in Rd. 1. William & Mary has advanced to the semifinals of the CAA Tournament. La Salle earned the top seed in the A-10 Tournament and won 15 games. Hartford made the America East Tournament. 

SPECIAL SENIORS
The senior class of Dara Battistoni, Audrey Butcher, Gritt Broening, Tara Heatley, Kristina Neri, Giselles Perez and Jessi Reinhardt can become the winningest senior class in program history with a win on Friday morning. The triumph would be the classes' 46th and break the tie with last season's group of seniors.
