DAY THREE
KENOSHA, Wis — The Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team finished in eighth at the UWW Warhawk Classic.
The No. 8 Knights went 0-3 on Sunday in bracket play. Fairleigh Dickinson was in fifth heading into Sunday.
In the first round, the Knights faced Adelphi. The Panthers won game one comfortably. The Knights made it close in game two but lost by three pins, 170-167. Fairleigh Dickinson got in the win column in game three, 206-127. Adelphi went on to win games four and five to take the match 4-1.
Fairleigh Dickinson faced Central Missouri in its second match. The Jennies swept the Knights 4-0. The closest that Fairleigh Dickinson got was a 12-pin loss in game three, 181-169.
Stephen F Austin swept the Knights in the third match. The Lady Jacks won all four games by 15-plus pins.
The Knights are back in action on December 2 & 3 for the Northeast Conference Fall Meet. That meet will be held in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
DAY TWO
KENOSHA, Wis. – A second straight 4-1 day kept No. 8 Fairleigh Dickinson in fifth heading into bracket play on Sunday at the Wisconsin Whitewater Warhawk Classic.
The Knights had a loss in the middle of the day that was sandwiched by a pair of wins on each end. The wins came over Saint Francis U, Monmouth, Stephen F Austin and the hosts. Adelphi handed the Knights their lone set back of the day.
Ninety-nine pins separated the Knights from fourth-place McKendree in the standings and a shot at the Tournament title on Sunday.
Fairleigh Dickinson had its highest total pinfall total of the day in match one—1,054. That total got the Knights past Saint Francis U's 943.
Aimee Sherman had a 244 for the Knights. Both
Amanda Chrzanowski and
Karsyn Lukosius were over 200 with a 235 and 222 respectively.
Four Knights were over the 200-pin plateau in match number two against Monmouth. Chrzanowski (222) and Lukosius (213) were joined by
Brianna MacLeod (210) and
Amy Caruso (203). The Knights got past Monmouth 1,021-959.
Chrzanowski made it a third straight game over 200 with a 226, as did Lukosius with a 216. Unfortunately, the math for the Knights added to a 972. The total left the Knights 15 pins short against Adelphi and fell 987-972.
Lukosius had her best score of the day with a 243 in match number four. That along with a 217 from MacLeod led the Knights to a 95-pin win over SFA, 984-849.
Fairleigh Dickinson was able to close the day with a win as a trio were in the 200s. Lukosius was the leader at a 213, Sherman posted a 201 and Chrzanowski was right on 200. The Knights topped the Warhawks by 12 pins, 974-962.
Lukosius averaged 221.4 over the five games and finished sixth in the individual standings. Chrzanowski was 11th after posting a 211.2 average on Saturday. Sherman averaged a 195 over five games.
A rematch with Adelphi awaits the Knights in the first round of bracket play on Sunday morning.
DAY ONE
KENOSHA, Wis. -- The eighth-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team was in action on Friday, competing at the Wisconsin Whitewater Warhawk Classic. The No. 8 Knights were one of the 13 ranked teams competing on the day.
In the first match, FDU went up against No. 4 Vanderbilt University. The Commodores defeated the Knights 1,011-920. The Commodores fired a 205 and 197 in games four and five to secure the win.
In the second match, Fairleigh Dickinson regrouped by winning a tight battle over No. 3 Arkansas State. FDU tallied scores of 278 and 237 to come back and tie the Red Wolves at 1.076 each. FDU won the five-frame tiebreaker 106-88, thus winning the match. Having the momentum, FDU registered another win by taking down Elmhurst College 995-834.
The fourth match for the Knights saw them competing against Valparaiso. FDU got the better of the Crusaders by winning 1,022-803 and recorded a score of 255 in the fifth game to secure the win. With three wins on the day, the Knights looked to add another as they battled with Lincoln Memorial University. In a close battle, FDU overcame the Railsplitters 1,014-1005. The Knights took the first three games, with the Railsplitters taking the final two. The scores of 224 in both the first and third games, led the Knights to accomplish the close win.
In tomorrow's action, the Knights will compete in five traditional team games.
