HACKENSACK, N.J. – Northeast Conference play gets into full swing for the Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team this weekend when the Knights host Wagner on Friday night and visit LIU Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon.
Both games – Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. – will be shown live on NECFrontRow.com
LAST TIME OUT
Fairleigh Dickinson – third in the NEC preseason poll – started NEC playoff on the right foot with a 1-0 win over Central Connecticut, who was second in the preseason poll.
Sofia Albertsson scored the lone goal for the Knights; it was her fifth of the season.
Amanda Fitzgerald recorded her second straight clean sheet in goal for the Knights. It was the fifth consecutive win for Fairleigh Dickinson in its conference opener.
SERIES SCORE
The Knights are 9-6-2 (.588) all-time against the Seahawks of Wagner. Fairleigh Dickinson is unbeaten (3-0-2) in the last five meetings with the clubs and is 6-2-1 at home against Wagner all-time.
LIU Brooklyn is 12-7 against Fairleigh Dickinson. However, the Knights are 4-1 in the last five meetings; the loss came at the 2013 NEC Tournament in Loretto, Pennsylvania. Fairleigh Dickinson is 3-5 all-time in Brooklyn.
SCOUTING WAGNER
The Seahawks enter Friday at 3-5-3 overall and 0-0-1 in NEC play. Like Fairleigh Dickinson, Wagner only played once on the opening weekend of NEC play last week. The Seahawks played LIU Brooklyn to a scoreless draw at home on Staten Island. Maria Nunez, Kristen Bischoff, and Sandra Battista lead the team with four points. Nunez and Bischoff have two goals each. Delaney Beck has played in 11 games for the Seahawks in goal and is 2-2-3 with a 2.33 GAA.
SCOUTING LIU BROOKLYN
The Blackbirds sit at 3-6-2 overall and 1-0-1 in NEC play. LIU is in second place in the NEC standings after the weekend of play. LIU Brooklyn won at Mount St. Mary's 1-0 on Friday and tied Wagner on Sunday. Jenn Peters leads the Blackbirds in goals (4) and points (8) this season. Kimberly Butland is second on the squad with four points. Allie Allman, who was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week last week, has played the most of the three goalies this season for LIU. The junior is 2-2-2 this season with a .918 save percentage.

A win on Friday night versus Wagner would make the Knights 2-0 in Northeast Conference play for the fifth straight season. The last time the Knights were not 2-0 to start NEC play was the 2012 season.

A trio of Knights is amongst the top 10 in the NEC in total points.
Sofia Albertsson is sixth with 11,
Elma Kolenovic is seventh at 10, and
Viktorija Miseljic is T9 at eight.
Albertsson and Kolenovic are tied for the league lead in goals with five.
Jessi Reinhardt sits T4 in assists with three.
Amanda Fitzgerald is T2 in saves in the NEC with 57 over 10 games.
WIN TOTALS
Eric Teepe picked up his 20th NEC win at the helm of the Knights on Friday versus Central Connecticut State. He is the second coach to do that in program history. Peter Gaglioti has the record with 24.
Teepe also picked up his 40th win at Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday night. Teepe is two behind Gaglioti for most wins in program history.
FRESH CLEAN SHEETS
Amanda Fitzgerald recorded her second straight shutout versus Central Connecticut on Friday night in the 1-0. It is the second time in the sophomore's career that she has registered back-to-back shutouts – did it versus Wagner and Sacred Heart last season.
