SCHEDULE UPDATE - Friday's rain has forced the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team to alter its scheduled four-game series with Central Connecticut. Friday's game has been postponed and the Knights and Blue Devils will now play doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday with play scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. both days.
TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team will welcome Central Connecticut to the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex on Friday to open a four-game Northeast Conference series. The Knights (21-23, 11-12 NEC) and Blue Devils (18-24, 10-10 NEC) are both in the hunt for a NEC Tournament berth as the regular season winds down.
Sunday, May 8 will also serve as Senior Day for the FDU baseball Class of 2016. The graduating seniors will be recognized prior to the game at approximately 12:40 p.m.
Friday's game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start with Saturday's doubleheader slated for 1 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch also expected at 1 p.m.
All three games will be available to watch live on NECFrontRow.com (Weather Permitting).
20 Wins: Last Saturday, the Knights defeated Wagner to secure their 20
th win of the 2016 season. This year is the 15
th time in the 67 years of FDU baseball that the program has reached 20 wins. However, the team has done it three times in the last six seasons.
11 Home Runs: Senior
John Giakas (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) homered twice last weekend to reach 11 for the season. That is the most in a year for an FDU player since the 1999 season.
