Baseball Closes Regular Season at LIU

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team closes out the regular season with a four-game Northeast Conference series at LIU Brooklyn this Saturday and Sunday.

The series has been moved to Adelphi University and will be played as doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday.  The doubleheaders are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on both days.  The games were moved because LIU is hosting the NEC Softball Championships.

The Knights are currently third in the NEC with a 14-13 record the team is also 24-24 overall on the season.   LIU is 8-14 in the NEC and in fifth place.  The Blackbirds are 14-32 overall on the year.

FDU is quickly closing in on clinching a NEC Tournament berth and are playing their final weekend, while the rest of the conference will close the regular season next weekend (May 20-22).

Notes
- Redshirt Junior Logan Frati (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport/South Manor) is 7-1 on the mound this season, which makes him just one win shy of the FDU single-season record of 8 victories.  The record has been reached five times, most recently by Mike Eliasen in 2012.

- FDU's 24 wins this season are the fifth most in a single-season in FDU program history, the school record for wins in a season is 28 set in 1993. Fourth most are the 2012 team's 25 wins and tied for second at 26 wins are the 1988 and 1994 teams.
