Complete ResultsSMYRNA, Tenn. - The No. 9 ranked Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson finished seventh at the Vanderbilt Music City Classic after going 2-1 in bracket play on Sunday.
The Knights finished the weekend with a 10-5 record and finished the regular season at 79-37.
In the opening round of bracket play the Knights, who were seeded eighth, faced the seventh seed and No. 6 ranked Central Missouri. The Knights fell in six games to the Jennies. Fairleigh Dickinson took game one, 257-126. The two would alternate wins in games two, three and four to tie the match at two games each. Central Missouri then won game five, 189-174, and game six, 203-187. The loss put the Knights against Northeast Conference rival Sacred Heart in the next round.
Against the Pioneers, the Knights went to six games again. Fairleigh Dickinson won the first three games of the match, the closest was game three, 182-171. Sacred Heart came back to win games four and five to force a game six. In game six, the Knights closed out the match with a five-pin win, 206-201. The Knights moved on to face No. 10 Wisconsin Whitewater.
Match three turned out to be the shortest match of the day for Fairleigh Dickinson in terms of games. The Knights took care of the Warhawks in five games. Fairleigh Dickinson won the first two games, 224-192 and 198-162. Wisconsin Whitewater came back in game three and picked up a 223-203 win. The Knights won games four and five to finish off the match and secure the seventh-place finish.
The Knights now turn their attention to the Northeast Conference Championships that will be contested this coming Friday and Saturday (April 25 and 26) in Howell, New Jersey. The Knights are the defending champions of the event.

Day Two
SMYRNA, Tenn. - The Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team went 3-3 on the second day of the Vanderbilt Music City Classic and moved up to eighth place in the standings heading into bracket play tomorrow.
The No. 9 Knights faced off with No. 22 Valparaiso in the first match of the day. The Knights opened with the win over the Crusaders by the score of 855-834. Fairleigh Dickinson is now 3-1 against Valparaiso this season.
The Knights made it back-to-back wins and four straight dating back to yesterday with a win over No. 11 Maryland Eastern Shore. The Knights got past the Hawks 949-924; Fairleigh Dickinson lost the lone previous meeting this season.
Match three saw the Knights fall to No. 25 Jackson State, 962-948. It was the first meeting between the two schools this season and it turned out to be the closest loss for the Knights on the day.
Fairleigh Dickinson got back in the win column in match four against a fellow Garden State institution -- No. 17 Monmouth. The Knights got past the Hawks, 972-939. The win is the fourth for Fairleigh Dickinson in six meetings this season with Monmouth.
Matches five and six for Fairleigh Dickinson came against No. 4 Sam Houston State and No. 2 Arkansas State respectively. The Knights dropped both matches, 992-944 for Sam Houston and 1016-940 to Arkansas State. The Knights are now 2-2 against Arkansas State and 0-3 against Sam Houston this season.
Individually,
Melanie Hannon (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Maryvale) had the highest average on Fairleigh Dickinson with a 199.2 over the six games. That average was 13th among individual bowlers.
Karsyn Lukosius (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) was next on the team with an average of 191.5, which is 33rd on the individual ladder.
In the Championship Bracket tomorrow the Knights will play No. 6 Central Missouri in the seven vs eight match-up in the first round. The winner would face the loser of the Stephen F. Austin and Wisconsin Whitewater match. The best the Knights can finish is fifth.

Day 1 Recap
SMYRNA, Tenn. - The No. 9 ranked Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson finished the six baker matches on day one of the Vanderbilt Music City Classic with a 5-1 record and sit in ninth place in the team standings based on pin fall.
Fairleigh Dickinson got off to a good start today in match number one with a win over No. 6 Central Missouri. The Knights took the match 907-901 and are now 2-1 against the Jennies this season.
Match number two of the day saw the Knights make it two straight wins with an 845-818 triumph over Felician. Fairleigh Dickinson is now a perfect 3-0 against Felician this season.
A third straight win came in match three when Fairleigh Dickinson bettered No. 21 Adelphi 924-890. It was the second win this season over the Panthers for the Knights.
No. 10 Wisconsin Whitewater handed the Knights their first setback of the day in match four. The Warhawks prevailed 982-975.
Fairleigh Dickinson bounced back in match five against No. 8 North Carolina A&T, who beat Fairleigh Dickinson down in Houston in the championship match. The Knights topped the Aggies, 1,008-882 -- high score of the day for the Knights.
Fairleigh Dickinson ended the day with a win over Alabama State in match six, 936-812. It marked the first time this season the two teams have faced each other.
The Knights return to action tomorrow for six traditional team matches. It all starts at 9:30 a.m.
