HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team will host Lehigh for a doubleheader on Saturday at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. The Knights (2-6) and Mountain Hawks (3-4) will also play a doubleheader on Sunday in Bethlehem, Pa.
First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 12 p.m. with the second game set to begin approximately 30 minutes after the completion of game one.
The Knights will be playing their second and third home games of the 2016 season on Saturday. FDU has played five times in the last week with a three-game series at Longwood over the weekend a Tuesday afternoon victory at Lafayette and the home opener on Wednesday against St. John's.
Redshirt junior
Ryan Brennan (Mooresville, N.C./Mooresville) enters the weekend as FDU's leading hitter with a .345 batting average. Brennan is followed closely by sophomore
Bobby Romano (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan ) who is batting .333 on the season. Romano has shown increased power this season with a .714 slugging percentage that is bolstered by two home runs and a triple.
On the mound, redshirt junior
Logan Frati (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport/South Manor) is leading the pitching staff with a 0.82 earned run average over 11 innings with nine strikeouts.
The Knights will follow up the Lehigh series by hosting Hofstra on Tuesday afternoon and then the team will host its first Northeast Conference series of the year against Mount St. Mary's.
