Women's Soccer Faces SFU in NEC Semifinals Friday

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team will try to defend it NEC Tournament title from 2015 on the road this season and be the first repeat tournament champion since LIU Brooklyn in 2011 and 2012.

SERIES SCORE
FDU is 3-5 all-time in the NEC Tournament. All three wins have come in the last two seasons. The wins have come against Saint Francis U twice (2014, 2015) and Robert Morris (2015).

LAST TIME OUT
The Knights lost their regular season finale to Mount St. Mary's (2-1) and a chance to host the conference tournament this weekend. Jessi Reinhardt (Freiburg, Germany/Burggymansium) scored the lone goal for the Knights.

POSTSEASON PLAY
This is the Knights seventh conference tournament appearance and fourth straight. FDU will try to win for the first time away from home in the postseason and has not been eliminated in the semifinal round since 2013.

SEASON ENDERS
The Knights will try to end Saint Francis U's season for the third straight season. FDU beat SFU in each of the two NEC Semifinal matchups between the two programs--both games were in Teaneck. 

NEC LEADERS
For the second straight season the Knights had the best offense in the NEC. The Knights led in points per game (3.74), goals (25), goals per game (1.32), assists (21), assists per game (1.11).

LEADING THE PACK
Jessi Reinhardt (Freiburg, Germany/Burggymansium) was the top point getter in the NEC this season with 18 (5G, 8A). The eight assists also led the NEC. Elma Kolenovic (New York, N.Y./NYC Lab) tied for the league lead in goals (6). Three other Knights were in the top eight in goals. Amanda Fitzgerald (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) led the league in saves (107).

POINTS STREAK
Jessi Reinhardt (Freiburg, Germany/Burggymansium) has at least two points in three straight games. The sophomore scored against CCSU, had three assists against LIU and scored against Mount St. Mary's for a total of seven points over her last three games.

FRESH FACES
Freshmen; Jackson Bennett (Toronto, Ontario/Humberside Collegiate Institute), Meghan Griffin (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) and Stasi Torchia (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's) have combined 11 points this season. Torchia has scored in back-to-back games, Bennett has three points in NEC play from her center back position and Griffin scored the game-winner at Wagner.
